22

I know that my last post was about turning 21 so it might seem a bit odd that my next post is about turning 22. However I have a few thoughts that I wanted to share.

I don't really think that I have a problem with age, however these last two blog posts might tell a different story.

I find that birthdays are a second opportunity to make new years resolution or to stop and take stock of the last year. Looking back at the last year I'm very happy with what I have achieved, although I didn't complete all the 21 things a set myself. The 21 things project gave me the opportunity and motivation to carry out activities I would have otherwise cast aside.

Turning 22 ( no I have not set myself 22 things to do!!!!) hasn't really bothered me that much, I've got a lot of exciting things planned for the rest of the year. However, I do feel like that I am living my life in slow motion, a lot of my friends are graduating this year and moving onto the next chapter of their adventure. But I am still 2 years from closing that chapter, and it feels like a loooooooooong time. I know that studying with Open University means that it does take more time, and has allowed me to have opportunities that otherwise I wouldn't have had. It is still difficult to see other people moving on when you're still stuck in the same place.

Despite these feelings I am learning to appreciate what is happening in the here and now, not constantly looking forward, or waiting on the future. My challenge to myself for this year is appreciate the little things, also I want to finish my 21 things, take more photos and blog more.
